Eamon Duede | Harvard University
I am an epistemologist of science focusing on two streams of research.
My theoretical work in the philosophy of science focuses on the epistemology of emerging technologies, principally artificial intelligence (AI).
My empirical work uses computational approaches falling under the broad heading of "Data Science" to investigate the roles that methods and institutions play in scientific discovery.
I also research and teach in the ethics of AI and other emerging technologies in science, business, and society.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. I completed a joint PhD in 2023 at the University of Chicago in philosophy and
conceptual and historical studies of science where I was also a Fellow in the
Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering
AI-Enabled Molecular Engineering of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (AIMEMS)
program. I have ongoing research affiliations with KnowledgeLab and Globus Labs.
◈ I joined the Digital, Data, and Design Institute at Harvard
◈ I was a visiting fellow at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge in Spring 2023
◈ I was named a "Rising Star in Data Science" by the University of Chicago Data Science Institute in the Autumn of 2022
